MARGAO: In a recent crackdown, the department of legal metrology seized 647 packages of imported cigarettes across North and South Goa.
Four vendors were booked for failing to comply with mandatory declarations under the Legal Metrology Act, 2009 and the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules 2011.
490 packages were taken from merchants in Benaulim and Colva, and on Saturday, 157 more were seized from vendors in Anjuna and Mandrem.
