PANJIM: The State Government has directed Directorate of accounts to ensure that the house building advance (HBA) payable to the banks by the beneficiaries are deducted at source from the salary and is paid to banks regularly.
The finance department has issued a circular in this regard wherein it has asked Directorate of Accounts to monitor HBA
The moves comes following allegations by Goa Forward Party that the HBA deducted from the employees salaries is not deposited in the banks for last three months. The HBA scheme curreny stands withdrawn for new sanctions.
“It has been observed that some of the Departments are still not adhering to the instructions issued in the aforesaid circular. All Heads of Departments are therefore hereby once again informed to strictly adhere to the instructions put forth in the circular dated 03/06/2020,” the circular states
Meanwhile, the Directorate of Accounts shall monitor and ensure that the House Building Advance payable to the banks are being deducted at source from the salary of the concerned Government employees and is paid to the banks regularly.
