PANAJI: While Goa has yet to achieve 100 per cent vaccination of the first dose, in reality, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today assured Prime Minister Narendra Modi that Goa will complete 100 per cent cent second dose vaccination by October 31.
Modi today interacted with Goans, including health workers, Panchayats, Cabinet ministers, and the public to congratulate on achieving 100 per cent vaccination of the first dose.
“I assure you (Prime Minister) that Goa will be the first state in the country to achieve 100 per cent vaccination of the second dose by October 31. We have already completed 100 per cent vaccination of the first dose already,” said CM Sawant while interacting with PM Modi
He further said that Goa has already completed 42.7 per cent of second dose vaccination of eligible persons.
“If we go to see the negative wastage is a mere 6 per cent. We have also announced that Tika Utsav 3.2 will begin from September 16,” he said
CM Sawant said that MLA’s, panchayat members and ministers were roped in the Vaccination program, due to which the state achieved 100% first dose vaccination.
“State also witnessed serious challenges recently due to flooding and cyclone tauktae, but the state fought hard,” he added.
Altogether there are 11.66 lakh persons eligible for vaccination in Goa. To date, we have vaccinated 11.88 lakh people. We have, in fact, covered 102 per cent vaccination of the first dose,” Sawant said
“Goa aims to achieve 100% vaccination with the second dose by October 31,” Sawant added.

100 per cent vaccination is a joke…
The Chief Minister’s announcement of 100 per cent vaccination is nothing less than a joke.
After teh Chief Minister took to Twitter and announced, Goa has completed 100 p.c COVID19 vaccination of the first dose.
As per the government’s data, over 10,000 people have taken the first dose in Goa, proving the CM wrong.
