PONDA: The Aggrieved Peons working in various government section schools have demanded the Seventh Payscale implementation.
The Aggrieved Peons or Multi-Tasking staff have submitted a memorandum to Chief Minister and Education Department requesting them to implement the 7th Pay Commission.
According to them, the government is implementing the 7th pay scale for all government staff. Secondary School peons are also paid this scale, and government-aided Primary School teachers are also paid this scale. They questioned why they are denied the &th pay?
They stated further they fall in the D group employee category and want the government to include them in the C category so that their salary increases.
Most peons working in government-aided primary schools are from ST, SC, and OBC Bahujans category, they said.
They said they are economically backward and should implement the seventh pay scale for their family and children.
“Chief Minister Pramod Sawant always claims that the present government is the government of Bahujans and working for their welfare. These employees hope that he would consider their demand to implement the 7th pay scale at the earliest,” they said.
According to these employees, besides the routine works of school, they are also burdened with many other works. They said they also take care of school children, and in case of emergency, even takes them to the hospital. If the need arises, they even provide their help in distributing mid-day meals to school children and even cleans school classes.
