MORMUGAO: Mormugao Police have registered a theft case after air pollution monitoring equipment worth around ₹16 lakh belonging to the Goa State Pollution Control Board was stolen from MPA quarters near Ravindra Bhavan, Baina, Mormugao.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by Anthony Miranda, Junior Laboratory Assistant with the Goa State Pollution Control Board.
The theft reportedly took place between May 15 at around 9:15 am and May 20 at 10:00 am. Unknown accused persons allegedly broke open the lock of the terrace door at the MPA quarters and stole five pollution monitoring machines.
The stolen equipment includes two Respirable Dust Samplers and three Fine Particulate Samplers, collectively valued at approximately ₹16 lakh.
Mormugao Police have registered the offence and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Stanley Gomes of Mormugao Police Station.
