VERNA: A potential disaster was averted thanks to the quick thinking and vigilance of PC Vijay Kumar from the Vasco Traffic Cell. At around 8:20 PM, while on duty at Birla Cross Junction in IDC Verna, he spotted smoke and fire emanating from the engine of a truck transporting Helium gas cylinders.
Realizing the gravity of the situation, PC Vijay Kumar immediately alerted the truck driver. Responding swiftly, the driver managed to extinguish the fire before it could escalate, mpreventing what could have been a catastrophic incident on the busy highway known for its heavy vehicular movement.
The incident underscores the critical role of alertness and timely action in ensuring public safety. Authorities lauded the efforts of PC Vijay Kumar for his dedication to duty and his instrumental role in averting a major mishap.
