PONDA: Last year, the road leading to KTC Bus Stand caused great inconvenience not only to Bus Drivers bus also to pedestrians and college students. Every day the same road is used by vehicle riders visiting at RTO office for their official work are also facing hardship.
After highlighting the road condition through media, the authorities repaired the road couple of months ago with patchwork; however, recent heavy rain has led to a worsening of road condition, and again the potholes are developed where the patchwork was done. The KTC road condition now appears to be a similar one that was one year ago.
The bus stand is used by interstate buses, and several buses with thousands of passengers visiting this bus stand express unhappiness over the lack of its maintenance.
When KTC Bus stand staff in the Control room was asked, they said they had requested PWD long back for hot mix carpeting.
Meanwhile, the 30-year-old KTC Bus Stand shed is already declared unsafe for use and closed for the shelter of passengers as it is on the verge of collapse.
The small temporary shed is erected for passengers to protect them from rain and sun, but passengers say it’s too small for them, and many of them face hardship in the rain. The passengers, and bus drivers, demanded the attention of authorities and solved the problem urgently.
Meanwhile, the KTC Officials said the repair of the KTC Bus Stand shed is progressing, and after completion of work, it can be used by passengers to take shelter.
