PANAJI: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai today said that all national parties have betrayed the people of Goa over the Mhadei river diversion issue.
Goa Forward Political Affairs Committee held a meeting with Mhadei Bachao Abhiyan Leader Nirmala Sawant over the Mhadei issue.
“All the national parties have betrayed Mhadei; this is a political issue; it has to have a political solution,” said Sardesai.
He further said that CM Sawant should meet PM Modi and find a solution.
“There is no reason for all MLAs to go and meet PM Modi, BJP is running a narrative to take us to court, and in the Court, justice delayed is justice denied,” he added.
Sardesai informed that he would point blank question Chief Minister Pramod Sawant whether he was not privy to the Centre’s decision to accord nod to the DPR to Karnataka on the construction of dams and Bhandara.
“Since we have information that Home Minister Amit Shah had a meeting with the Chief Minister of Karnataka Bommai and our Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on the issue, we would insist that our Chief Minister clarify at the meeting whether he was taken in the loop by the Centre before giving the nod,” Sardesai added.
He said that the state BJP is keeping silent about the diversion attempts since Karnataka also has a BJP-led government, which is looking to win again.
