PANAJI: Minister Mauvin Godinho has urged Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman for adequate funds to make the St Francis Xavier’s Exposition a world class international event.
Godinho met Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharam for a courtesy call.
“Looking ahead, we discussed the upcoming exposition of Saint Francis Xavier in Goa, emphasizing the need for adequate funds to make it a world-class international event,” said Godinho
Additionally, we addressed the growing frustration among the youth due to unemployment. Innovative solutions and out-of-the-box thinking are essential.
“I am confident in her ability to continue making impactful strides in this area under the visionary leadership of our Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” he said
The state minister also said that he had the honour of meeting the Finance Minister Smt Nirmala Sitharaman for a courtesy call, wishing her well for her current tenure.
She has done an exceptional job in the Finance Ministry, and we should be proud of her achievements. On behalf of the people of Goa and myself, I congratulated her for her leadership, especially during critical times.
The Goa Government has constituted two Committees led by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant to handle the upcoming Exposition of sacred relics of St Francis Xavier in Old Goa, slated to be held from November 21, 2024 to January 5, 2025.
The “Exposition Secretariat” Committee will oversee the day-to-day operations while the High-Powered Co- ordination Committee comprising 40 members including ministers, legislators, and senior government officials – will make decisions and execute tasks for the Exposition’s success.
The Exposition Secretariat also comprises Panchayats Minister Mauvin Godinho and Environment Minister Aleixo Sequeira as Deputy Chairmen, as well as officers from the Goa Police, PWD and other related departments.
