CANACONA: An unidentified rocket-like object generated anxiety among people on Agonda shore. Canacona Police rushed at the site, and after inspecting, it was declared non-dangerous late Monday evening.
On Monday evening, people present at the Agonda beach shore were caught in a panic after they noticed an unidentified rocket type object which came floating at the seashore of Agonda beach. Some onlookers also noticed ‘Danger’ written on it, which generated more anxiety amongst the onlookers.
Someone later called the police, and two policemen arrived at the site, and later more policemen came along with LPSI Rifa Barretto and rushed to take the suspicious object in their possession and placed it on the beach sands at about 7 pm. They later took it away in the Police Jeep in which they came by placing it in the Leep Dicky.
The rocket type object had ‘Danger’, ‘Do Not Touch Notify Police’ print-written on its top side, while the down part had ‘RED SMOKE’ and some other worlds printed but could not be read due to darkness properly.
While stating there’s no immediate danger, one of the policemen accompanying the team informed the object is a Shell containing Red Smoke normally used by the Navy on their Vessels.
It was almost a panic amongst people after knowing recovery of a Rocket like an object, but later everyone heaved a sigh of relief after police informed the object found is harmless and took it away.
‘It is an equipment to show the signals to sea-vessels venturing in the sea. The object is verified as an old one of 2015 washed ashore at Agonda beach. There is nothing to worry about, said police inspector Tulshidas Naik.
