Margao: A 54-year-old man from Andhra Pradesh was declared brought dead at the South Goa District Hospital (SGDH) in Margao on March 11.
According to police, a phone call was received at around 10:18 am from the casualty police at the hospital informing that Amara Appanna, a resident of Colva and native of Andhra Pradesh, had been brought to the casualty but was declared dead on arrival.
During inquiry, police spoke with the friends of the deceased who stated that Appanna had come to Goa on March 10 for work. Later in the night, he reportedly complained of high fever and was taken to the hospital for treatment.
However, upon arrival at the casualty, doctors declared him brought dead.
Police conducted an inquest panchanama over the body and referred it for post-mortem examination at the South Goa District Hospital. The autopsy conducted by the police surgeon certified that the cause of death was “disseminated tuberculosis in a person with diseased heart and liver.”
After completing formalities, the body was handed over to family members for the final religious rites.
