Quepem: A gold chain worth approximately ₹9.2 lakh was allegedly stolen during the annual Gulal Festival at the Shri Damodar Temple in Zambaulim on March 10.
According to police, the complaint was lodged by Shailesh Gad, a resident of Porvorim.
He stated that the theft occurred between 3:30 pm and 3:45 pm near the temple premises while he was attending the festival.
Unknown accused persons allegedly stole a gold chain along with a gold pendant weighing around 51 grams during the crowded festivities.
Police have registered the case, and further investigation is being carried out by PSI Yogesh Gaonkar of Quepem Police Station.
