Anjuna police today has arrest three persons alleged criminal intimidation, theft & trespassing to vacate house forcefully at Anjuna.
As per information, the arrested persons are identified as Rakesh Raha n/o Raibareli, Parshuram Gawas r/o Nadora & Vicky Naik r/o Old Goa for alleged criminal intimidation, theft and trespassing to vacate house forcefullyat Anjuna. All the three are bouncers by profession.
According to the principal accused, Janardhan Khorate and his associates broke into the St. Michael’s Waddo home, evicted the occupants, and stole items such electronics and Rs 3 lakh in cash.
“Although the FIR has been lodged, the defendants are still at large. The owner of the security company that supplied the bouncers is among those who have not been assisting with the probe, a senior police official informed The Goan. “We’ve started a huge search for them.”
According to Rajesh Sinary’s statement to the Anjuna police, he and his family had been residing in the house since May 2022 on a verbal rental arrangement that was backed up by an email exchange from the accused, paying Rs 50,000 a month.
Sinary and his family allegedly opposed what they called a forceful takeover, even though he sought a court order to leave the property. According to police, their initial investigation revealed that Khorate and his crew had forcibly entered the property through a rear entry.
“This is a civil dispute, but using criminal force has turned it into a serious criminal case,” he said, adding that “the door usually stays open.” People who have power of attorney are unable to enforce the law on their own. We are looking into every possibility.
Along with 190 (common intention), a case has been filed under the BNS’s provisions 189 (2) (illegal assembly), 191 (2) (rioting), 329 (4) (trespass), 331 (3) (housebreaking), 305 (theft), and 351 (4) (criminal intimidation).
