Anjuna: Anjuna Police have arrested a 54-year-old man in a major narcotics seizure conducted near Jamun Bar & Restaurant in Assagao, Bardez, during the early hours of Sunday. Acting on specific and reliable information, a narcotic raid was carried out between 12:20 am and 3:25 am by PSI Amir Taral of Anjuna Police Station.
The accused, identified as Maqsood Ahmad Patloo, son of Mohammad Subhan Patloo, originally from Behar, Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir and currently residing in Assagao, was found in illegal possession of a substantial quantity of narcotics. The seizure included 1,770 grams of suspected Ganja valued at ₹1.7 lakh, 56 grams of suspected Hydroponic Ganja worth ₹5.6 lakh, and cash amounting to ₹7 lakh. The substances and cash were discovered inside a black shoulder bag in the possession of the accused.
Anjuna Police have registered Crime No. 110/2025 under Section 20(b)(ii)(B) of the NDPS Act, and the accused has been formally arrested at 5:20 am on August 3, 2025. All Supreme Court guidelines were followed during the arrest and seizure procedures. An express report has been filed given the gravity of the offence.
