DONAPAULA: In a shocking twist, Anjuna Police today have arrested a real estate agent from Donapaula for his involvement in the case of the Assagao house demolition.
As per the information, the real estate agent has been identified as Arshad Khawja, a 51-year-old resident of Donapaula.
The complaint claims that Sharma and her unidentified companions stole Agarwadekar’s husband and son and caused damage to her home.
According to police sources, Sharma used illegal means to force out the current occupants, who have been staying on as caregivers, even though she has all the paperwork to prove it, including the property mutation.
Additional inquiries are being carried out by Anjuna Police regarding the occurrence.
The incident started at 2:30 pm on Pradeep Agarwadekar’s property in Bhairo Alto, Assagao, when a number of unidentified men and women arrived driving a JCB earthmover.
According to Agarwadekar, he and his family have lived there for the previous 25 years.
The family objected, but the JCB operator started tearing down the house because the bouncers told him to.
The Agarwadekar family was not notified of the demolition, according to witnesses, and no legal processes were followed.
