The complainant, a taxi driver for Goa Miles App, alleged that on the accused restrained him and his customers at Mudda Wadi, Saligao, using filthy language and threats. Team Goemkarponn MAPUSA: Two Vasco residents are facing charges from the Mapusa Police for allegedly stealing a cell phone worth Rs 1.73 lakh. Police claim that Abhinay Shrirang Narvekar, a resident of Ansabhat-Mapusa, filed a complaint alleging that on January 26 at Golden Orchid, the accused—who were identified as Suraj Naik from Mandrem-Pernem and Shreya Vardhan, also known as Shreya Suraj Naik, from Headland Sada-Vasco—stole complainant’s daughter’s cell phone. According to reports, the complainant’s family are among the accused. PSI Aditya Gad is investigating the case after a formal complaint was filed.

DELHI: The Supreme Court has taken a view that police machinery should not serve notices to the accused through WhatsApp or other electronic modes. “All the States/UTs must issue a Standing Order to their respective Police machinery to issue notices under Section 41-A of CrPC, 1973/Section 35 of BNSS, 2023 only through the mode of service as prescribed under the CrPC, 1973/BNSS, 2023.
