New Delhi: Former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia was granted bail by the Supreme Court Friday morning – nearly 18 months after he was arrested by the CBI in the alleged liquor policy case. Mr Sisodia was arrested by the CBI on February 26, 2023, and by the Enforcement Directorate less than two weeks later. New Delhi: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has kept its key interest rate unchanged for the ninth consecutive time, its governor Shaktikanta Das announced today. A six-member Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) headed by Mr Das kept the repo rate unchanged at 6.5 per cent. The decision was announced after the RBI’s rate-setting panel’s three-day deliberations, which began on Tuesday. It was the first MPC meeting after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the Union Budget for the fiscal 2024-25 last month. New Delhi: The government on Tuesday proposed significant relief for individuals who bought houses before July 23, 2024, by giving them the option to choose between two tax rates for long-term capital gains (LTCG) tax. The Budget 2024-25 had proposed to lower the LTCG from 20 per cent to 12.5 per cent but removed the indexation benefits. The new rates have come into effect from July 23, 2024.
