BBC has transferred its newsroom publishing licence in India to a private limited company, Collective Newsroom, marking a first in the public service broadcaster’s global operations. This transition comes a year after the Income Tax department conducted searches at BBC’s offices. Collective Newsroom, a wholly Indian-based company established by four ex-BBC employees, will initiate operations from April 10. New Delhi: The country’s top anti-terror agency NIA has strongly refuted allegations of assaulting residents in West Bengal’s Bhupatinagar, where its team had gone as part of its searches into a blast case that killed three people in December 2022. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) in a statement said its team came under “violent attack by an unruly mob” when they had gone to conduct searches in Naruabila village. “The attack was completely unprovoked and uncalled-for, and an attempt to obstruct NIA from carrying out its lawful duties,” the NIA said. New Delhi: Vistara’s management may have announced steps to tackle its ongoing crisis, but the resolution is expected to take time, sources have told NDTV Profit. Two people familiar with the matter have said that first officers from Air India will be sent to Vistara on deputation. But this may not resolve the matter immediately.
