Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: Chief Minister Pramod Sawant said that Goa government will issue passes through Directorate of Mines for sand transporting trucks from both Goa and Maharashtra, informed CM Pramod Sawant. He was speaking to media persons after meeting with Former Maharashtra MP Nilesh Rane over the tussle between the sand transporters associations of both the states. The issue has been resolved to ensure that sand is available for constructions at good rate, said Sawant. Goemkarponn Desk PANAJI: Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB) will set up stations for conducting Ambient Air Quality Monitoring in all talukas of Goa for a period of two years from January 2024 to Dec 2025, by spending Rs 12.85 crore. GSPCB has invited bids for the work. Sampling locations for Ambient Air Quality Monitoring (Sampling, Analysis & Reporting) will be identified by Goa State Pollution Control Board (GSPCB). Goemkarponn Desk MARGAO: South Goa Additional Sessions Court has acquitted Assam native Lakshi Basumurthy, from the charges of murdering a security guard at Cuncolim Industrial Estate due to lack of evidence. 66-year- old security guard Siddaramayya Wandar, native of Gokak, Karnataka was found murdered at the IDC Cuncolim on November 24, 2020 while he was on night duty. Basumurthy who also worked as security guard was accused by the Cuncolim police of killing Wandar over some petty matter and stealing his money.
