The State Cabinet today granted its approval for One-Time Settlement (OTS) scheme for the defaulting power consumers, with waiver on delay payment charges. The decision has been taken to recover the pending arrears of Rs 320 crore. Power Minister Nilesh Cabral said that under the scheme if the consumer pays up the entire principal amount, then he or she will get 100 per cent waiver in delay payment charges. The delay payment charges will be waived off partial- varying from 20 percent to 80 percent, if the consumer opts for installment mode to clear the principal amount, he said. Cabral…
PORVORIM: The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today maintained that the notification covering COVID-19 treatment under the Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY) would be withdrawn. Speaking to reporters, Sawant said that DDSSY benefit for COVID-19 is not required as the government has put in place all the required infrastructure as well as finalize package for treatment in private hospitals. “The decision to include COVID-19 under DDSSY was taken in March, when State was not equipped to deal with the infection.
