Following people’s protest the Village panchayat of Guleli, has rejected NOC for the IIT Goa compound wall project. Pernem: Pernem police arrested two Russian nationals for growing cannabis in their rented apartment at Gawdewada, Mandrem and selling it to buyers. The police also seized canabis worth Rs 3.5 lakhs. The two arrested were Aleksei Perevalov (age 31 years) and Aleksei Rebriev (age 41 years). Police said they found that the Russian Nationals had fully started cannabis plantation in their flat and the suitable environment was created using tubelights, exhaust fans and other equipment in order to facilitate commercial plantation of the cannabis plant. The State on Monday recorded 391 new cases from 1246 samples tested, which comes to 31 p.c of positivity rate. Goa also reported four more deaths on Monday along with 423 new recoveries. The death toll is now 460. The State now has 4803 active cases while confirmed cases are 35719. The total recoveries are 30456. The deceased today included 75 year old male from Panjim, Tiswadi, 40-year old male from Usgao, Ganjem, 68 year old female from Kumbharjua, 76 year old female from benaulim, Salcete. Three deaths were at GMC and one at ESI, Margao.
