PANJIM: The Goa Entertainment Association (GEA) has requested the State government to try and reassess the decibel level limitations prescribed in the new sound notification reasonably for traditional events and local weddings. Through a letter, they have requested the Minister, who is also the Law Minister, to consider the pleas of various other tourism stakeholders who depend on music for their livelihood. The Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant has assured the Corporation of the City of Panaji (CCP) that the tender for setting up of proposed Solid Waste Management facility at Bainguinim, will be floated within ten days. In a major raid, Crime Branch, Goa has assisted Forest Department – tracks down accused of ivory smuggling Forest Dept. Of Goa and Karnataka were on the look out for smugglers of ivory and approached Crime Branch Goa. PIs Rahul Parab and Chimulkar led a team of Crime Branch with forest officers which apprehended the two absconding accused –  Vishnu Harmalkar age 24 r/o Aqnivaddo, Bardez Goa. and Anil Parsekar age 30yrs r/o Aradi Porvorim Goa. CUNCOLIM: At a time when the state is celebrating the festival of Ganesh Chaturthi, robbers decamped with donation boxes and other valuables from three temples around Cuncolim area yesterday night. Out of the seven temples, robbers managed to break into three temples at Talwada, Veroda & Cuncolim, one temple’s fund box missing, other temple’s fund box emptied & thrown out. According to the police they had also attempted to burgle four more temples in the area.
