After being in Green Zone for four months, the capital city of Panjim has seen a sudden spurt in COVID19 cases as it reported 12 new cases in just one day. Corporation of City of Panaji Mayor Uday Madakaikar informed that there were 12 new cases on Wednesday. The Opposition MLAs – Sudin Dhavalikar and Vijai Sardesai have demanded that the one-day monsoon session should only discuss the three issue of pandemic, environment destruction and the financial condition of the State. The new Education Director Santosh Amonkar has ruled out re-starting of schools before September 2020 considering the rising number of COVID19 cases in the State. The new director soon after taking charge from former director Vandana Rao has submitted a proposal to the government saying schools cannot begin in August, as recommended by the MHRD.
