An awareness vehicle rally regarding 4th Bird Festival was held from Quepem to Mollem today. A State level event Bird Festival will be organised from February 5 to 7, 2021 by Goa Forest Department at Mollem, Darbandora.
The rally was flagged off by Ex Chairperson and present councilor, Quepem Municipal Council, Shri Filu Dcosta in the presence of Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief Wildlife Warden, Goa, Shri Santosh Kumar, IFS; Deputy Conservator of Forests, Wildlife and Eco-tourism, North, Shri Jabestin A, IFS; Deputy Conservator of Forests, Wildlife and Eco-tourism, South, Shri Premkumar, IFS and Deputy Conservator of Forests, Monitoring and Evaluation, Shri Aniket Gaonkar.
Around 100 delegates from Goa and different States are expected to participate at the 4th Bird Festival of Goa. Guided bird tours, lectures by eminent ornithologists, cultural programmes and various other attractive events will be part of this festival. Chief Minister, Dr Pramod Sawant will inaugurate this festival in presence of PWD Minister, Shri Dipak Pauskar at 10.30 a.m. Earlier newly established Bio-diversity Park at Dharbandora will also be inaugurated.
As part of pre festival activity an awareness vehicle rally to spread message of conservation of forest was held. Adventure Group, Indor took part in the rally. Lokrang, Curchorem presented street play giving message of importance of maintaining balance of ecosystem. Rally made way from Quepem, Margao, Ponda, Dharbandora and culminated at Festival place Mollem.
While speaking on the occasion Councilor, Shri Filu Dcosta gave his best wishes for successful organisation of 4th Bird Festival in the State. He also spoke about the importance of Forests and wildlife in human life.
Shri Santosh Kumar expressed confidence that fruitful interaction will be held with the delegates in the festival. He further said, nowadays ladies are super heading the campaign for conservation of forests and wildlife.
