ZAMBAULIM: In a heartbreaking incident, an 18-year-old boy from Baina, identified as Mohammed Shabbir Khan, drowned at Pantyaar, a water body in Zambaulim, on Thursday afternoon. According to sources, the tragedy occurred while Khan was on a picnic with his family.
Witnesses reported that Khan was caught by strong currents and tragically pulled under the water. Despite immediate efforts, the young man could not be saved. His body was recovered two hours later with the assistance of local residents and officials from the Fire Department.
The incident has left the community in mourning, highlighting the dangers of water bodies, especially during the monsoon season.
