CANACONA: Eco-Club of Balram A Day Care School launches Kitchen Garden in its school complex at Mokhard Shristhal.
Speaker and Canacona MLA Ramesh Tawadkar called on the students to help their parents in household work, horticulture, agriculture and cultivating fruits and vegetables while studying in school.
Earlier inaugurating the Kitchen Garden, Tawadkar, in his address to the student, further said, ‘the students should consume self-cultivated/grown leafy vegetables in his daily diet and take benefits of its rich nutritious value in their diet. ‘Therefore, teachers should make the students aware of various fruits and vegetables and their importance through projects like kitchen gardens. Only then will students stand on their own feet in such fields.
Fruits and vegetables have been planted in the kitchen garden, including Chilli, Brinjal, Okra, Cucumber, Wal, Chawli, and Ghosali. The plantations have been done in around one hundred and fifty square meters in the school premises.
While preparing the kitchen garden, School Principal Ashok Gaonkar, Eco Club president teacher Shraddha Naik, Teachers Gangesh Velip, Dhananjay Velip, Anand Velip, S. Naik, Ashwini Shet, Ritima Velip, and other teachers and most of the students were involved.
