PONDA: The locals at Ramnath Bandora expressed strong concern over the mysterious structure coming up at Ramanathi Sharp’s turn by digging the road.
With two pits dug on the road, locals suspected that the Electricity Department was searching the road for installing or shifting transformer
The locals said more than a decade ago the road was too narrow, and farmers had sacrificed their fertile land for road widening. If an Electricity transformer is installed at the roadside, it will narrow the road making it accidents prone, and pedestrians would be at risk.
When contacted EE Bharatan at Curti Electricity Department, he said one breaker is proposed at Ramanathi at the roadside for safety of existing electrical transfer since undergone cabling is proposed at Bandora.
Meanwhile, locals said there are two Transformers. One is meant for a Private Building, which is located inside the premises of that building, while another is for public supply and streetlights at the roadside near Ramanathi Temple Lake (Tollem). If all Electricity Department want to construct breakers, they should be in a safe place and not at a sharp turn on the main road.
