MAPUSA: Residents across Bardez taluka and some areas of Bicholim are expected to experience water supply disruptions on May 27 and 28 due to emergency maintenance work at the Assonora Water Treatment Plant.
The Department of Drinking Water (DDW), through the office of the Executive Engineer of Works Division II, said the temporary reduction in supply is necessary to carry out important repair and servicing work at the treatment facility.
The affected regions include major parts of Bardez, including Mapusa and neighbouring areas, along with localities in Bicholim that receive water from the Assonora plant network.
Department officials stated that the maintenance exercise is aimed at strengthening the water distribution system and improving supply reliability in the future.
Authorities warned that several locations may receive minimal water supply, while some areas could face complete interruptions during the maintenance period.
Residents, businesses, hotels and restaurants have been urged to store enough water beforehand and avoid unnecessary usage until normal supply resumes.
