OLD GOA: The Basilica of Bom Jesus in Old Goa will be closed to tourists and visitors from Thursday morning, April 17, until 11 am on Sunday, April 20, due to religious services being conducted during the Holy Week Triduum. Fr. Patricio Fernandes, SJ, Rector of the Basilica, informed that the sacred Paschal Triduum liturgical services for the Catholic community will be held, with all services conducted in English. The schedule for the services is as follows: on *Maundy Thursday, April 17, the service for The Lord’s Supper will begin at 5 pm. On **Good Friday, April 18, the Passion of the Lord service will begin at 3 pm, preceded by several devotions, including the Way of the Cross at 10 am, The Three Hour Agony at 12 pm, and The Divine Mercy Novena. On **Holy Saturday, April 19, the devotion “Mater Dolorosa” will take place at 10 am, followed by the Easter Vigil service at 11:30 pm. On **Easter Sunday, April 20*, Masses will be celebrated at 7 am, 8 am in Konkani, and 9:15 am in English. Fr. Fernandes has requested the cooperation of the public during this time, as the Triduum services hold deep significance in the Catholic faith.
