MANDREM: A 64-year-old Belarus national was declared brought dead at Goa Medical College on Monday after she reportedly fell ill while staying in Morjim.
According to police, Mandrem Police Station registered the case on March 2 at 2.28 pm after receiving a wireless message from the Casualty Police at GMC Bambolim informing that a foreign national had been brought dead.
Enquiries revealed that the deceased, identified as Mrs Natalia Hil, wife of Ivan Satsuta, was staying at Shaan Coco Palms Beach Resort located at Vithaldas Wadda on Little Morjim Beach Road in Morjim, Pernem. She was residing there along with her husband.
Police said that on March 2, she reportedly began shivering and feeling uneasy at the resort. She was shifted by a 108 ambulance to North Goa District Hospital and later referred to GMC Bambolim for further treatment. However, upon examination, the on-duty medical officer at the casualty ward declared her brought dead.
Police have stated that no foul play is suspected in the matter. Further enquiry is being conducted by PSI Laximan Dessai of Mandrem Police Station.
