Margao: Leader of Opposition Yuri Alemao strongly condemned the Circular issued by the Madhya Pradesh BJP Government which mandates prior Written Permission for School Children taking part in any Christmas Celebrations, Decorate Christmas Tree, Dress as Santa Claus with a Warning of Action for Violations. Beware Goa for 2024.
Referring to the Circular issued by the District Education Officer of the Madhya Pradesh Government imposing restrictions on Christmas Celebrations in Schools, the Leader of the Opposition slammed BJP Government for dictatorial style of governance.
“Let all Children celebrate all Festivals in the spirit of True Indianness. Let us have an Inclusive Society respecting every Festival and Culture. Let Festivals and traditions be out of Political Agendas,” said Yuri Alemao.
He said Goans should look at this bizarre circular with utmost caution. This is what lies ahead for us in the near future. This virus will spread all across the Country soon. If we want to stop this, we need to stand united in 2024.
“There is nothing surprising in the Circular issued by Madhya Pradesh BJP Government. The BJP Government in Goa is also heading in the same direction. They have already started restricting Weddings and family Events in Goa,” pointed out Yuri Alemao.
“We all have an opportunity coming up in 2024. Let us all stand committed to protecting our Democratic and fundamental Rights. Let us all take a pledge to Defeat Divisive Forces. We need to work hand in hand to defeat the Dictatorial Regime,” appealed Yuri Alemao.
