MARGAO: South Goa MP Viriato Fernandes said that he would “try hard to put them behind bars,” adding that he is resolved to work diligently to expose the MLAs and Ministers engaged in the controversial Bhutani issue in Sancoale by making sure they are held accountable.
Captain Viriato asserted that the community’s interests and well-being are being jeopardized by the government’s perceived insensitivity and accused it of failing to respond to the needs and concerns of the local populace.
“Bhutani and the BJP are a deadly combination that wants to devastate Goa. He said, “This government is not with the people,” with great emphasis.
Capt. Viriato reported that the Congress party reacted promptly to the community’s call for support in rejecting the Sancoale Bhutani project.
The MP acknowledged that team members had a part in gathering specific documents and delivering them to those fighting the project. He urged safeguarding Goa’s territory before it is destroyed permanently.
Vice President of the Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), Sunil Kawthankar, stated that the Bhutani project has exposed the government.
“It merely illustrates how the government has granted approval for zone changes and permitted the development of a project that poses a risk,” he said.
“DLF and Spark Healthline Private Limited are the two initiatives in the North Goa district. The Reis Magos hills have been totally decimated by it. We complained about it, but nothing was done about it,” he claimed.
Kawthankar stated that regardless of caste or creed, the BJP’s action will affect the coming generation. “It will hurt all Goans and their future generations,” he declared.
