PANAJI: BJP today kickstarted it’s campaign for the May 7 Lok Sabha elections by seeking blessings of Shree Mahalaxmi in Panaji.
For his sixth straight term, the BJP has nominated Shripad Naik as Union Minister of State for Tourism in his customary North Goa parliamentary seat.
Meanwhile, the party is attempting to take the South Goa parliamentary seat from Pallavi Dempo, a businesswoman.
Dempo began her election campaigning with a goal of reaching every voter. Before starting their campaign, the candidates and party officials prayed at the Shree Mahalaxmi temple in Panaji at 3:30 p.m.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant briefing the media claimed that opposition cannot see the projects and works that North Goa MP Shripad Naik did.
“Everyone knows Shripad & he knows people across all villages. Pallavi might not have public contact, but karyakartas will work and win both seats,” said Sawant
Sawant said the party will win both the Lok Sabha seats in Goa. “BJP will win North Goa seat by one lakh margin and South Goa seat by 60,000 margin of votes this time,” he said.
He added that the party workers will ensure that symbol ‘Lotus’ reaches every household in Goa.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, BJP President Sadanand Shet Tanavade, ministers, MLAs, and party leaders were present.
Sawant appealed to the voters to bless both the BJP candidates to win the ensuing Lok Sabha polls
