PONDA: Today, along with South Goa Member of Parliament Capt. Viriato Fernandes, GPCC President Amit Patkar and Congress leader Rajesh Verenkar visited the Sub District Hospital in Ponda and learnt that there is a dearth of health facilities here. BJP has pushed this hospital into mental stress and sickness.
Sub District Hospital at Ponda was built by the Congress government to provide better health facilities to people. However, it lacks the required workforce, along with doctors, specialists and equipment under this Heartless BJP government. We built projects for people, but BJP Govt failed to maintain them.
Despite a lack of facilities and workforce, doctors are performing with available infrastructure. I respect them for their contribution to society, but this government has failed to provide them support through infrastructure and financial provision for equipment.
The government is busy organising events by borrowing. But has failed to provide general surgeons, CT scan machines, and other equipment in this hospital.
The priority of this government is organising events, corruption and disturbing communal harmony of the state. It has failed in all areas, including the health sector.
Congress had built the infrastructure, but the BJP failed to maintain them. Still, the BJP says Congress has done nothing. I urge the government to provide good health facilities to the people.
Some leaped into BJP searching for VIKAS. But they have only done their personal VIKAS and not of the public. Ponda is a classic example of it, where traitors not only hoodwinked but betrayed voters while joining the BJP.
“Instead of time passing by saying ‘chyaay piya, batatwada khaya’, MLA should work in the interest of the people. Ponda has failed to see ‘Sun In’ (light) and hence in the next election incapable politicians should be shown the door by saying ‘Sun Out’.
This is shocking that this hospital lacks basic facilities and MLA has failed to provide them despite being a minister in a double-engine government.
This double-engine government boasts of a stable financial position but is often seen organising events by borrowings. They are looting taxpayers’ money. But have no will to provide medical facilities to the people of Ponda.
This is condemnable because the whole Ponda taluka is dependent on this hospital and despite having four ministers in this taluka there is a dearth of medical facilities.
