PANAJI/MARGAO: BJP’s Shripad Naik and Pallavi Dempo, the candidates for North and South Goa constituencies, respectively, today filed their nominations for the Lok Sabha polls, scheduled on May 7.
While Naik filed his nomination at the North Goa District Administration, Dempo filed at the South Goa District Administration. Both were accompanied by Chief Minister Pramod Sawant and party president Sadanand Tanavade.
Both Naik and Dempo expressed confidence in winning their respective seats.
Addressing the media, Sawant stated that Bharat needs decisive & strong leadership to achieve the goal of Viksit Bharat.
“Goans will wholeheartedly support Prime Minister Narendra Modi, with both LS seats in the state, and contribute towards AbkiBaar400Paar,” he added.
Sawant also said that this time we have double the power compared to 2019 elections, Digambar Kamat, Aleixo Sequeira, Sudin Dhavalikar & Ravi Naik are with us this time.
“The Congress has fielded a candidate who lost to Mauvin Godinho during the last assembly election, Mauvin will now again defeat him with a 5k margin from his constituency,” he added.
CM Sawant joined Pallavi Dempo, BJP South Goa Lok Sabha candidate for filing her nomination at Margao, along with Ministers Ravi Naik, Sudin Dhavlikar, Aleixo Sequeira, Party Leaders & Karyakartas.
In North Goa, Naik was also accompanied by BJP Goa Desk Incharge Ashish Sood, Ministers Vishwajit Rane and Babush Monserrate and other MLAs.
Shripad Naik speaking to reporters said that
he has not seen such excitement in the people before.
“Looking at it, certainly we will win both the seats in the coming Lok Sabha election like we did in 1999 and 2014,” he added.
Naik said that the the way our ‘karyakartas’ are working hard, the BJP will break all the previous records.
South Goa BJP Candidate Pallavi Dempo said that she will continue to campaign in a positive manner without commenting on Opposition.
“Let Congress handle their own issue,” Dempo said.
In Goa, voting for its two Lok Sabha seats will be held in a single phase during the third round, scheduled for May 7, covering both the North Goa and South Goa constituencies.
Goa has a total of 1,135,811 registered voters, comprising 555,768 male voters and 580,043 female voters.
