PANAJI: The Goa government has formed a 15-member Planning, Development, and Construction Committee, which will be led by the Chief Secretary.
The committee’s purpose is to grant Single Window Clearance to M/s. BramhaCorp Theme Park LLP, based in Pune, so they can establish a theme park and garden in Goa at Pernem.
The Committee has the authority to carry out any function granted to it by the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Single Window Clearance Act, 2021, including control over the construction of buildings and other facilities.
Members of the committee include representatives from the TCP, Health, Industries, PWD, Electricity, Pollution Control Board, GCZMA, Collectors from both districts, and others.
Located near Manohar International Airport in Mopa on 97,224 square meters of private land, Pune BramhaCorp plans to establish a mini-India theme park.
In order to establish the park, the Goa Investment Promotion and Facilitation Board (IPB) suggested in August that the buffer zone surrounding the waste management plant be de-notified and designated as an investment promotion area.
Residents of Pernem are already displeased with the project. The locals think that the government is once again attempting to con the people of the taluka by imposing another massive project on them in the form of the “Mini-India Theme Park” (also known as the “Mini India project”), which was previously rejected by the villagers of Quelossim and Bogmalo in the Mormugao taluka.
