PORVORIM: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today informed that the budget session of Goa Assembly will begin on March 24.

Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant will present his second budget in the Goa Assembly.
During the session, there will be discussion and voting on demand for grants for the financial year 2021-2022 unlike in the past when the government would seek a “Vote on Account” for four months and then pass the entire budget during the monsoon session.
However, the agenda for the budget session was yet to be approved by the Business Advisory Committee (BAC), comprising representatives of all political parties.
The state government will have to face issues like diversion of the Mhadei river
, Covid management, the Tamnar transmission line, double-tracking of the South Western Railway, widening of the national highway, coal-handling and implementation of the amended MV Act in the House, among other issues.
