Following criticiam from civil society Power Minister Nilesh Cabral said that he was misquoted by media on the power connection issue.
Speaking to reportera, Cabral said, his words were twisted he never said he would disconnect electricity connections of those opposing transmission line at Dharbandora.
“What I said was those who are opposing Mollem power project must first voluntarily disconnect their power supply but the statement was twisted. Who am I to disconnect anybody’s connection,” he said.
He said some NGOs are misguiding people on coal issue.
“We do no want coalbut it has been started 13-14 years ago. How do we dtop that?” he asked.
He also said some people say 50 million tonnes of coal will be transported.
“Do they even know how much is 50 million tonnes. To transport that amount we will require 300 trains daily,” he said.
