CALANGUTE: Two individuals from Delhi and Indore were taken into custody by the police in relation to a murder that occurred at a Calangute hotel. According to the Calangute Police, on March 17, a man named Abdul Jahir Sarkar filed a complaint alleging that on March 15, between 5.07 am and 10.47 pm, some unidentified individuals killed 39-year-old Bhavna Tomar by breaking into her room at a hotel in Khobrawaddo, Calangute. Police investigations revealed that a woman and a man had entered the room, killed the victim, and taken her cell phone and luggage.

Rashmi Solanki, 43, a resident of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, and Rahul Maheshwari, 40, a native of Delhi, have been named as the accused. According to the police, both of the suspects were evading capture and were located in Delhi and Indore by electronic monitoring. To apprehend them, two Calangute police units were dispatched. They were taken to Goa on Saturday night and are currently being held in police custody on remand. A violation of BNS 2023 Sections 329(3), 303(2), and 103 r/w 3(5) has been reported by the Calangute Police. Investigations are ongoing.
