CANACONA: Canacona Police have arrested Four local residents of Canacona for murderous assault on a native from Ghaziabad-UP and robbing him of Cash (18000/-) and valuables valued at Rupees Fifty Thousand.
According to Canacona police Dattaraj Naik Desai r/o Tembewado, Suweak Naik r/o Sheller, Prajot Bandekar r/o Devabagh and Prithviraj Naik Gaonkar, r/o Tembewada in Canacona are arrested in the assault and theft of cash and valuable of Sunny Khanna, at Ponsulem (Canacona). Khanna is a native of Ghaziabad-Uttar Pradesh.
All four are booked u/s 329 (4), 352, 351 (3), 118 (2), 309 (4), 309 (6), r/w 3 (5), of BNS 2023 and are presently lodged in 02 days of police custody.
According to Canacona police, on 2nd August at around 04.30 hrs, the accused person Dattaraj Naik Dessai along with three unknown accused persons with their common intention criminally trespassed in the rented flat of the Sunny Khanna and abused him with filthy words such as ‘Bastard’ and assaulted him with fist blows on his chest, face, legs, ribs and on the abdomen area and also assaulted with leather belt and hit beer bottle on his head. The complainant victim sustained grievous injuries on his head and on the ribs.
Thereafter, the accused persons forcibly took away the mobile phone of the complainant made of Real Me C 30 worth Rs.25,000/-, one Bluetooth Boat Speaker worth Rs.7000, and cash of Rs.18,000/- from the cupboard all amounting to Rs.50,000/-
Accused Dattaraj Naik Dessai further threatened the victim and the complainant Sunny Khanna with dire consequences to kill if he disclosed the incident before the police.
Canacona police in due course of investigation identified the three unknown assailants and all four were arrested.
Stating the recovery of the stolen goods and cash is in progress, Canacona police informed that the case is being further investigated by PSI Babu D. Dessai of Canacona PS under the direct supervision of Canacona PI Harish Raut Desai and guidance of Dy. SP Tikam Singh Verma.
