ANJUNA: A villa caretaker has been taken into custody by Anjuna police in relation to the theft of Rs 65,000 worth of cash and a gold ring.
The incident was made public after South Delhi resident Shashank Jha complained that the caretaker had broken into the Anjuna villa between 5 and 8 p.m. on December 6 and taken the belongings.
A Rs 40,000 gold ring that belonged to Jha’s sister-in-law and Rs 25,000 in cash in different denominations that belonged to Jha himself were among the stolen items, according to the police.
After receiving the complaint, the Anjuna police filed a case under section 306 of the BNS, 2023, and took the accused—a 34-year-old Assamese native—into custody.
The matter is still being investigated by the police.
