PANAJI: Minister of State for Electronics & IT, Commerce & Industry, Jitin Prasada today said that government has been working on streamlining E-visa facilities for foreign tourists
“E-visa for foreign tourists will be streamlined; working on expanding cruise tourism; Center working on redeveloping eco-tourism sites & heritage sites under PPP,” said Prasada
He further said that 50 tourism sites to be developed across tourism States via PPP as Goa remains a flagship.
According to Prasada, the budget was historic since it prioritized middle-class and salaried individuals. “Lakhs of people will benefit from the decision to grant income tax exemption,” he stated.
According to the Union Minister, the country’s economy will benefit from the exemption from income tax of up to Rs 12 lakh annually. According to him, the middle class will have more disposable income, which would boost the economy.
According to Prasada, the prime minister’s motto of Reform, Perform, and Transform has been adhered to in the most recent budget. “That is the main focus of India’s growth story,” he stated.
The goal is to make India a manufacturing hub, increase exports, and decrease imports, according to Prasada.
“The focus of this budget has been on tourism,” the Union Minister stated when discussing the advantages of this budget for Goa. Infrastructure development is receiving more support in a number of tourist destinations. According to him, Goa will gain the most from the UDAN plan and other initiatives like e-visas in terms of improved connectivity.
He stated that incentives for the pharmaceutical industrial sector will also benefit Goa and that eco-tourism and beach tourism would be encouraged through the PPP mechanism.
“Goa’s pharmaceutical industry accounts for 12 percent of the nation’s pharmaceutical sector,” he stated.
