MARGAO: Chandor Club defeated Goa Velha Sports Club 3-1 to move into the quarter-finals of the 23rd edition of Bro.Eulalia Vas Memorial football tournament Org by Don Bosco oratory factor at Don Bosco ground on Thursday.

After the resumption of the second half Vitorinho Fernandes of Chandor Club ran down and fed unmarked Alerich Peixeto who shot directly in the net to complete his brace in the 41st minute of play meanwhile Goa Velha regrouped quickly and took control of the game and scored in the 48th minutes with a powerful header by Shubam Vernekar. As match progressed Goa Velha missed the opportunity in the 52nd minute to level the score with Yogendra Thapa who shot directly into the arms of Presley Mascarenhas goalkeeper of Chandor.
In the last quarter of the game, Chandor made the issue safe by Cajitan Fernandes who tapped the ball over the goalkeeper of Goa Velha In the open net.
As the match is headed for the end of the regular time Goa Velhas Arun Naik’s long-range shot was punched away for a corner by the goalkeeper of candourChandor club
Vincent Barbosa of DBO Fatorda presented the man of the match to Aldrich Peixeto of Chandor Club who scored two goals
