FATORDA: Goa Forward Party (GFP) President and Fatorda MLA Vijai Sardesai today said that his party will stand by the Chinchinim locals on the issue of highway expansion.
Locals from Chinchinim today called on GFP MLA Vijai Sardesai on the issue of Highway expansion.
“Chinchinim are facing issues. We will stand by them and give all possible help, said Sardesai.
He further said that the Village Panchayat of Chinchinim-Deussua has requested him to intervene in the Highway Expansion issue at Chinchinim.
“This government just doesn’t want to listen to the people, after the Bhoma-Corlim issue, now villagers from Chinchinim our facing issues,” he added.
It may be recalled that the Union Highway Ministry had recently announced a Rs 300-odd crore package for the four-laning of the Navelim-Cuncolim stretch of the National Highway-66, which includes a four-lane road with a paved pedestrian pathway and a flyover at the congested Dandeavaddo area of Chinchinim.
However, the residents have raised their objections to this proposal and have demanded a road bypass, starting from Sirlim, before the bypass joins the National Highway just before Sarzora.
