MARGAO: Hoardings carrying the image of Chirag Datta Naik were reportedly torn down in Margao during the night, with the incident drawing attention in the city.
According to local accounts, the hoardings appear to have been removed or damaged under the cover of darkness. While Chirag Naik’s image was torn away, the images of Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge remained prominently visible on the structure.
Reacting to the incident, Naik remained composed and said the removal of his image from a hoarding would not diminish his connection with the people.
“You can remove Chirag from hoardings, but you cannot remove Chirag from the hearts of the citizens,” he said.
The incident has since become a topic of discussion in Margao, with questions being raised over those responsible for the alleged vandalism.
