HARVALEM: Goa BJP claimed to have made a clean sweep in the Harvalem village panchayat elections held on Sunday by winning more than 5 out of 5 wards.
As per information, Demgo Malik (Unopposed Ward I), Ajay Malik (Ward II), Mamta Divkar (Ward III), Gaurvi Guruprasad Naik (Ward IV) & Asmita Malik (Ward V).
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant congratulated all 5 candidates on the massive win and said that he would support them in their work.
“I thank all the people of Harvalem. All 5 panch members will work on the path of development. I will support them as MLA and CM,” said Sawant.
At the panchayat elections on Sunday, 91.17% of voters in Harvalem panchayat exercised their right to vote.
In the elections to elect a five-member Harvalem panchayat, 12 candidates competed for four wards, with one candidate, Demgo Sukdo Malik, winning unchallenged from Ward 1.
Elections were held peacefully, according to Electoral Officer Praveen Gawas, who also reported that 91.17% of voters participated in the four ward elections.
