PANAJI: Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant addressed the 133rd State Level Bankers’ Committee (SLBC) meeting in Panaji, where key issues related to strengthening Goa’s banking sector, financial inclusion, digital banking, and sustainable economic growth were discussed.
The Chief Minister highlighted the progress under social security schemes, noting that Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) enrolments have reached 4.17 lakh beneficiaries, while Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY) enrolments have crossed 12.12 lakh beneficiaries in the State.
He stressed the importance of expanding credit and support to MSMEs, women entrepreneurs, startups, tourism, fisheries, agriculture-linked activities, and rural enterprises through schemes such as PMEGP, PM Vishwakarma, PM Mudra Yojana, Stand-Up India, and Startup India.
The Chief Minister also called upon banks to focus on green financing, rooftop solar initiatives, digital financial literacy, and strengthening last-mile banking services, aligning with the vision of Swayampurna Goa, Atmanirbhar Bharat, and Viksit Bharat 2047.
