PANAJI: In view of the rising COVID-19 cases and mortalities, Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant today announced a lockdown starting Thursday evening to Monday morning.
CM Sawant clarified that all essential services will be open and people should panic.
“Goa will go for a 4 day lockdown from tomorrow. The lockdown will be in force from tomorrow (Thursday 29) evening after 7pm to Monday (May 3) morning” said CM Sawant
He added “People need not panic. All essential services including grocery stores will be open. Kitchens of restaurants will be open for home delivery of food. Public transport will be completely shut down,” Sawant added.
CM Sawant further said that industrial services within campuses will be permitted. They will have to arrange their own transport.
“Public transport will be completely shut down, borders will be open, Govt essential services will continue and Casinos will be closed,” he added
Sawant also informed that Bar & restaurants home delivery permitted. Consumers can also go and pick up food items from restaurants
“Grocery shops will be open as usual. No “timings set, Some areas will be marked as containment zones; Weddings with 50 persons will be permitted and Religious functions can continue by following SOPs” CM informed
Speaking on Vaccination drive CM Sawant informed that Vaccination will continue with appointments.
He further said that DDSSY card scheme will be available for covid treatment.
“Vaccination centers shifted from Health Centers to closed schools or other govt premises; Test reports will be available with 24-hours from tomorrow,” he said
“70 to 80 % payment of covid treatment will be taken care of by DDSSY scheme” he said
