PANAJI: Commercial establishments across Goa have been urged to immediately apply for Piped Natural Gas (PNG) connections to secure an additional 20 per cent commercial LPG quota amid ongoing supply constraints.
According to the appeal, the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas has approved an additional 20 per cent allocation of commercial LPG. Establishments such as hotels, restaurants, bakeries, canteens, dhabas, food processing units, hostels, community kitchens and hospitals can avail the benefit by applying for a PNG connection and submitting the required undertaking declaring “state of readiness”.
Officials stated that applicants do not require immediate PNG infrastructure, as submitting the application and undertaking will register intent and make establishments eligible for the additional quota without disrupting current LPG usage.
The move is expected to provide immediate relief to commercial users, reduce long-term fuel costs, and promote cleaner and more reliable energy for businesses.
For North Goa, including Ponda taluka, establishments can apply through Goa Natural Gas Pvt Ltd, while those in South Goa and other areas can apply through Indian Oil–Adani Gas Pvt Ltd. Authorities have urged businesses to act without delay as the enhanced LPG quota is time-sensitive.
