CANACONA: On the occasion of the 38th Statehood Day of Goa, the Canacona Congress Parivar, in association with the Mahila Congress Canacona, organized a Women Empowerment Workshop on Friday, 30th May 2025, at Yeda, Khotigao in Canacona.
The workshop was aimed at promoting self-reliance, skill development, and awareness among women in the Canacona region. The event saw large participation from women of all age groups, representing various local from Khotigao and surrounding areas.

addressed key issues such as women’s rights, games, craft and much more talks and interactive sessions were also held, encouraging women to come forward.
A special highlight of the event was the felicitation of 12 women who have been socially active and instrumental in bringing change within their respective regions. Their dedication and service to the community were publicly recognized and honored as an inspiration to others. The event received overwhelming support from local leaders and organizations particularly Adivasi Mahila Manch, Khotigao represented by president Prachita Velip, Secretary Suvarna Velip, Treasurer Riya Velip, Exec. Member Deepika Goankar, demonstrating a united effort toward women’s empowerment.

Pednekar, (State Vice President, Goa Pradesh Youth Congress Committee), District representative Gaspar Coutinho (District General Org. Secretary, South Goa District Congress Committee), Assembly Frontal Representative Ursila Costa (President, Canacona Block Mahila Congress Committee), Booth level representatives Daya Goankar (Ex Sarpanch, VP Khotigao), Paik Velip (Ex-Panch, VP Khotigao).
